Pork Sesame Balls

  • Makes: 18 balls

  • Preparation time: 15 min
  • Cooking time: 15 min

  • Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) minced pork
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 spring onions, finely chopped
  • 1 oz (25g) peanuts, finely chopped
  • 1 inch (2.5cm) root ginger, peeled and grated
  • 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp crunchy peanut butter
  • dash of sesame oil
  • salt and pepper to season
  • 7 tbsp sesame seeds, toasted

  • Method

  • Pre-heat the oven to 200 c, 400 f, gas mark 6.
  • In a large bowl mix together all the ingredients, except the sesame seeds, until thoroughly combined.
  • Place the sesame seeds in a saucepan over a medium heat and dry fry until they turn golden brown.
  • Divide the mixture into 18, shape into balls and roll in the sesame seeds.
  • Place on a baking sheet and cook in the oven for 15 minutes.
